element14 Community and Bourns Launch Experimenting with Flyback Transformers Design Challenge

Chicago – September 21, 2023: element14, an Avnet Community, in collaboration with Bourns, recently launched the Experimenting with Flyback Transformers Design Challenge.

This innovative competition invites design engineers and enthusiasts to explore the world of flyback transformers, integral components used in switched-mode power supplies, converters, inverters, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for prizes tailored to inspire and reward their creative endeavors.

The challenge aims to expand the understanding and application of flyback transformers through a series of hands-on experiments, tests, and designs. Whether you are an experienced engineer or a passionate hobbyist, this challenge offers a platform to showcase your skills and innovations.

“We invite engineers and enthusiasts to join us on an exciting journey of innovation as we explore the untapped potential of flyback transformers,” said Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for element14. “We look forward to observing the innovative approaches our members take throughout this challenge.”

The challenge is open to all element14 Community members, with free registration available here.

Applications for the Experimenting with Flyback Transformers Design Challenge are open now until October 23, with participant selection on October 27. Challengers must submit their projects and blogs by January 15, and winners will be announced in January 2024.

Prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: The grand prize winner will walk away with an impressive package including an MP720015 Handheld Oscilloscope from Multicomp Pro, a BeagleV Ahead Single Board Computer from BeagleBoard, and an MP710258 single-channel programmable DC electronic load from Multicomp Pro.
