USB Type C Connectors Line Adds New Waterproof and Power-Only Models

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — October 8, 2024 — Same Sky’s Interconnect Group today announced the continued expansion of its USB Type C connectors line with a range of new waterproof and power-only models. The UJ family now offers waterproof USB receptacles with IPX5, IPX6, IPX7, or IPX8 ratings, making them ideal for applications where moisture is a concern. This expansion also includes new 90 W power-only USB Type C receptacles, including IPX5 rated options. By removing the data transfer pins, the UJC models are a more cost-effective solution for designs where charging or power is the sole function.
Outside of the power-only connectors, this expansion includes models conforming to the USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 standards with power delivery up to 240 W at 48 V and 5 A. Housed in horizontal or vertical surface mount packages, these USB Type C receptacles carry high reliability up to 10,000 mating cycles and operating temperature ranges from -40 up to 85°C. The majority of models are reflow solder compatible, including the following IP rated parts that utilize UV-glued O-rings capable of withstanding reflow solder temperatures:
  • UJC-H-G-SMT-1-P6-TR-65
  • UJ32-C-H-G-SMT-4-P24-TR-68
  • UJ20-C-V-G-SMT-P16-TR-66
  • UJ20-C-H-G-MSMT-P16-TR-67
  • UJ20-C-H-G-SMT-P16-TR-67
The UJ20, UJ32, and UJC models are available immediately with prices starting at $0.84 per unit at 100 pieces through distribution. Please contact Same Sky for OEM pricing.
