Bourns Adds Multifuse® PPTC Resettable Fuse Series Developed for High Operating Temperature/High Operating Current Applications

New high power rated Model MF-RHS Series features low power dissipation in a small package designed to help to increase efficiency in motor and industrial designs

RIVERSIDE, Calif., January 2, 2024 – Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today introduced its Multifuse® Model MF-RHS High Temperature Radial Leaded Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) Resettable Fuse Series. Bourns’ new fuse series answers the need for broader high temperature PPTC protection solutions that meet increased working temperature and high power rating requirements for a wide range of equipment, particularly in motor and industrial applications.

The new Model MF-RHS Series is based on Bourns’ advanced design that increases resettable fuse performance and supports an operating temperature range up to 125 °C. Performance enhancements are comprised of an elevated 100 A maximum current rating (Imax), including a hold current rating range (Ihold) from 3.5 A to 13.0 A at 16 V maximum rated voltage and enhanced resistance stability in a smaller PPTC chip size. The series’ smaller package dimension and low power dissipation can also help increase overall power application efficiency.

The Bourns® Multifuse® Model MF-RHS Series is available now and is RoHS compliant* and halogen free**. The series is also UL and CSA recognized and the products are

manufactured in one of Bourns’ IATF 16949 certified facilities. For more detailed product information, please see: www.bourns.com/products/circuit-protection/resettable-fuses-multifuse-pptc#smdhts
