ASRock Industrial Brings Upgrades in iEP-5010G Industrial IoT Controller

Taipei, Taiwan (Feb 21, 2023) ASRock Industrial is delighted to bring the new iEP-5010G Series Industrial IoT Controller with upgrades powered by Intel® Atom® x6000E Processors (Elkhart Lake-PU) for excellence in computing power, featuring fan-less and rugged design with -40~70 °C wide operating temperature and 6-36VDC broad range power inputs for industrial applications. The iEP-5010G Series offer flexible IOs and expansions for communication ranging from 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and BT 5.2 RF capabilities. Plus real-time TSN, TCC, Intel® In-Band ECC support, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and remote management, the Series collect and process real-time data from manifold industrial equipment, connecting edge-to-cloud absolutely. They are the perfect Edge Controller and IoT Gateway in Edge AI applications such as industrial automation, Robotic, AMR, smart retails, smart poles, transportations in smart cities, and much more.

Higher Capability with Intel Atom® x6000E Processor (Elkhart Lake- PU Platform)

The iEP-5010G Series Industrial IoT Controller offer models including iEP-5010G-010 Basic SKU, iEP-5010G-011 PoE SKU, and iEP-5010G-012 5LAN SKU, featuring the latest Intel® Atom® x6416RE, x6214RE Processors (Elkhart Lake-PU) all in the compact size of 58 x 125 x 157 mm (W x D x H). The Elkhart Lake provides up to 1.7x improvement in single-thread performance, up to 1.5x in multi-thread performance, and 2x graphics performance improvement over previous generation. Highlighting support for two DDR4 3200MHz SO-DIMM DRAM up to 32GB, an excellent fit for computer vision processing. Moreover, with In-Band ECC memory support, the iEP-5010G guarantee reliable computing to protect the system against potential crashes.

Adaptable IOs and Expansions with Real-time TSN/TCC and RF Capabilities

For a flexible range of IOs and expansions, the iEP-5010G Series feature two USB 3.2 Gen 1×1, two USB 2.0, four DIs, four DOs, one HDMI 2.0b, one VGA, one Mic in/Line out, and three RS-232/422/485 serial ports to connect multiple industrial devices. There are also one 2.5G LAN (Intel® i226-IT), two 1G LAN (Intel® i210-IT) and optional two 1G LAN (Intel® i210-AT) for iEP-5010G-012 plus optional two Intel® i210-AT ports supporting IEEE 802.3AF PoE (iEP-5010G-011) with Intel® TCC and TSN for real-time computing at the edge. Moreover, the iEP-5010G also support 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and BT 5.2 RF capabilities with two optional Wi-Fi antenna, three 4G LTE or four 5G antenna, plus various expansions, including one M.2 Key E socket (2230) for Wi-Fi/BT module, one M.2 Key B socket (3042/3052) for 4G LTE/5G module, and one external Nano SIM card slot for 4G LTE/5G module. Further storages support encompass one M.2 Key M (2280) for NVMe SSD, one SATA3 for SDD (iEP-5010G-010 only) and one Micro SD card slot.

The Series implement flexible I/Os design to satisfy diverse application requirements alongside available choices: Basic SKU supports Wi-Fi/BT/4G LTE/5G, 2.5’’ storage, one 2.5G Ethernet (i226-IT) and two 1G Ethernet (i210-IT); PoE SKU supports two IEEE 802.3AF PoE/Wi-Fi/BT, one 2.5G Ethernet (i226-IT) and two 1G Ethernet (i210-IT); 5LAN SKU with support for Wi-Fi/BT, one 2.5G Ethernet (i226-IT), two 1G Ethernet (i210-IT) and two Intel i210-AT. Additional critical features include M2M protocols support, remote management and firmware/software/application of over-the-air (OTA) updates to facilitate data collection from southbound to northbound.

Durable Ruggedness in Harsh Environment

The iEP-5010G Series Industrial IoT Controller are fan-less, with ruggedness designed for straining environments. The wide range of power inputs with phoenix type connector guarantees 6-36V wide range DC input for iEP-5010G-010/012 and 19-36V for iEP-5010G-011, plus full power protection with OCP, OVP, UVP, and 80V Surge Protection. The models also secure a wide range of operating temperature from -40 °C to 70 °C (iEP-5010G-010/012), and high shock/vibration resistance to ensure functionality and durability in harsh environments. For industrial security, TPM 2.0 is built-in to set up a trusted computing platform. Last but not least, you can depend on various mounting options, including DIN rail and wall mount options to satisfy diverse applications.
