Allied Electronics to Sponsor Gadget Freak Smackdown at EE Live! 2014

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Allied Electronics, a trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), announced today that the company will sponsor EE Times Gadget Smackdown at this year’s EE Live! 2014 conference to be held March 31 to April 3 in San Jose, California.

The event is organized and co-hosted by self-proclaimed Editor of all things Fun and Interesting at EE Times, Clive “Max” Maxfield, and Richard Quinnell, Editor in Chief of IoTWorld. “Gadget Freak Smackdown is designed to give engineers a chance to present a cool, fun and interesting project they have finished, are building, or plan to build one day,” explains Maxfield. “Anyone attending the conference or exhibition is welcome to participate, so long as they arrange their presentation with either Richard or me. Three sessions will be held in the EE Times Fantastical Theater of Engineering Innovation located in the exhibition arena. The sessions will be held over three days, April 1 from 4:00 to 5:00 pmApril 2 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, and April 3 from noon to 1:00 pm. The winner of each session will receive a FLIR VP50 Non-Contact Voltage Detector + Flashlight, donated by Allied Electronics.
