BEEcube Will be Exhibiting at the AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2011

FREMONT, Calif., July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — BEEcube will be exhibiting at the AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2011 from Tuesday, August 16 to Friday, August 19th at booth #1810 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

BEEcube is presenting the BEE4-W, the ultimate EW (Electric Warfare) and signal intelligence FPGA based prototyping platform.  Not only does it support full speed mixed signal systems with its high speed low noise DAC and ADC combo FMC cards, but it prototypes various real-time video image augmentation schemes.  For mission critical unmanned vehicle digital prototyping nothing comes close to the BEE4-W, the ultimate sandbox.

BEEcube will be highlighting these capabilities on the show floor, with prebuilt sample demonstrations.  One of our demonstrations is a video processor reference design that features a live video stream.  The live video stream is processed inside the FPGA in real-time and passed through the second HDMI interface on the FMC board out to the display. The real power of this demo is that the filters themselves are general-purpose 2-dimensional hardware filters, and the coefficients to these filters are programmed entirely in software via Nectar OS.

Another demonstration is a Software Defined Radio (SDR) reference design that highlights BEE4 as an SDR prototyping platform – using our FPGA based continuous wideband vector signal generator, controlled by software in real-time via Wind River’s VxWorks over Gigabit Ethernet, with carrier frequency tone sweeps ranging from 0 to 2GHz. The ADC expansion board simultaneously captures analog output with data being displayed directly and integrated with Matlab.  BEE4’s ADC can sample up to 3 GHz, offering a true direct RF sampling capability.

Our third demonstration is an arbitrary waveform generator.  This system implements a complete arbitrary waveform generator with up to 16 billion samples memory capacity.  The system also allows the user to create any signal they want in Matlab and BEE4 will produce it with the DAC on our FMC101 DAC/ADC expansion board.
