Highest Reliability on Smallest Space: S-200µ microSD Card from Swissbit

Bronschhofen, Switzerland – July 20, 2011 – Swissbit extends its line of SecureDigital (SD) Cards with the Series S-200µ microSD designed especially for embedded systems and industrial applications. It features high level due to its Lifetime Monitoring functions and Power Loss Protection system, its extended temperature range and long term availability.

The Lifetime Monitoring functions via SPI or SD interface inform users about the current state of health of the card, thus assuring system availability. Data integrity is guaranteed by use of a patented power-loss management system to prevent data corruption during an unexpected loss of power. The modules offer a long lifetime thanks to the use of Single Level Cell (SLC) NAND Flash Components: They allow 100.000 write/erase-cycles and assure data preservation up to ten years. Their performance reaches 25MB/sec.

Swissbit‘s microSD Cards are designed, manufactured and tested to fulfill the demanding needs of the industrial market: Long term availability of a minimum of four years with a fixed Bill of Material (BOM), as well as exceptional resistance to shock and vibration.

The new S-200µ series is available in densities from 512MB to 2GB. The cards come standard with an extended operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C TAmbient. An industrial temperature version that can operate at -40°C to +85°C TAmbient is also available allowing for further design flexibility in harsh environments.
