S2C Distributes Snowbush PCIe and SATA IP in China

Shanghai, China – July 11, 2011 – S2C Inc., a leading rapid SoC/ASIC prototyping solutions provider, announced today its plans to distribute the Gennum Corporation Snowbush IP in China.  The Gennum Snowbush IP Group, a leader in high-speed serial interface IP (intellectual property), offers one of theindustry’s most robust, widely-deployed and production-tested family of IP cores for today’s most demanding high-speed serial communication protocols and applications. S2C has been distributing IP in China since 2007 with sales offices and applications engineering support located in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen China.

Snowbush IP offers one of the industry’s broadest silicon-proven PHY IP portfolios covering key standards, including PCI Express®, SATA/SAS, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, XAUI, Gigabit Ethernet and 10G Ethernet. Snowbush IP solutions for PCI Express consists of PHYs, configurable digital controllers, and high performance AMBA 3 AXI or AMBA 2 AHB bridges – all integrated together to provide end-to-end solutions.  Additionally, Snowbush IP supports SATA delivering PHYs integrated with configurable SATA controllers available as: AHCI-compliant SATA 3, 2, 1 Host Controller that connects to either PCI Express Controller or AMBA AXI or AMBA AHB Bridges.

“We are excited to work with Snowbush IP who has a proven track record in delivering high quality, highspeed serial communication protocols such as PCI Express, SATA/SAS, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, XAUI, Gigabit Ethernet and 10G Ethernet.  We foresee a large demand for these IPs in advanced process nodes as the complexity of designs in China continues to increase dramatically,” said Toshio Nakama, CEO of S2C.  “S2C also plans to develop Snowbush IP reference designs on S2C TAI Logic Modules so our customers can have working designs on FPGA prototypes early in the design cycle.  Rapid SoC/ASIC prototyping using FPGA is becoming a mainstream hardware verification and concurrent software development methodology.”

“Our high-speed interface IP products are an excellent fit with S2C’s SoC IP portfolio.  With their strong sales and application teams, we believe that Snowbush IP can help accelerate customers’ time to market with highly differentiated products,” said Alan Tsun, General Manager of the Gennum Snowbush IP Group.

About S2C

Founded and headquartered in San Jose, California, S2C has been successfully delivering rapid SoC prototyping solutions since 2003.

S2C provides:

  • Rapid SoC FPGA-based prototyping hardware and automation software
  • Prototype Ready™ IP, Platforms, and Accessories
  • System-level design verification and acceleration

S2C’s value is our singular focus on SoC/ASIC development. Our highly qualified engineering team and customer-focused sales force understands our customers’ SoC development needs. S2C’s unique FPGAbased solution, using our patented TAI IP technology, enables designers to quickly assemble FPGAbased SoC prototypes on S2C FPGA boards. This gives customers an early start on software development, typically the long pole item in development schedules. Combining rapid prototyping methodologies with a comprehensive portfolio of Prototype Ready IP and advanced verification and acceleration solutions, S2C solutions greatly reduces the SoC design cycle.

In addition to the headquarters in San Jose, CA, S2C currently has 4 direct offices located in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen China and HsinChu, Taiwan. S2C is also the organizer of the annual SoCIP seminar and exhibition in China, which brings SoC designers from the Asia-Pacific region together with international silicon IP and SoC solution vendors.
