PITTSBURGH, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Timesys Corporation, provider of the industry’s most-easy-to-use and affordable embedded Linux solutions, today announced a LinuxLink offering for the Freescale Semiconductor i.MX53 family of energy-efficient multimedia applications processors, including support for the i.MX53 Quick Start Board. This latest LinuxLink offering adds to the broad range of Freescale platforms already supported by Timesys.
Timesys LinuxLink for i.MX53, which includes support for the i.MX53 Quick Start Board, enables customers to develop advanced multimedia and cost-effective solutions that meet the demands for performance and power in the consumer, automotive, medical and industrial markets. Developers can take advantage of the LinuxLink offering for Rich Multimedia User Interface (Rich MUI) to build value-add applications that require faster graphics, advanced user interfaces, sophisticated video processing, 2D and 3D graphics and dual display. The initial release for the i.MX53 is based on the 2.6.35 Linux kernel which integrates drivers for the reference board peripherals.
