Xilinx to Discuss and Demonstrate Optical Transport Network (OTN) Portfolio at Linley Tech Carrier Conference 2011

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 6, 2011 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) will showcase its industry leading optical transport network (OTN) portfolio and will discuss how it provides multiple solutions that can help users overcome high bandwidth optical transport network (OTN) challenges at the Linley Tech Carrier Conference at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose from June 7 – 8, 2011. During the conference, Xilinx Solution Architect, Communications Business Unit, Shreyas Shah, will explain how FPGAs are addressing increasing bandwidth demands in carrier/optical networking. Shah’s presentation will also cover quality of service (QoS) and traffic management requirements for high bandwidth networks. Xilinx will also demonstrate its Virtex®-6 HXT FPGA Optical Transport Network (OTN) Targeted Design Platform for supporting faster market implementation of 100G line cards and demonstrating the key technologies enabling high bandwidth applications today with production Virtex-6 HXT FPGAs, as well as the soon to be available Virtex-7 XT devices, paving the path to the development of future 400G line cards using Virtex-7 HT devices. Xilinx will also demonstrate its 28 Gbps serial transceiver technology for next-generation 400G line card applications.

What: Linley Tech Carrier Conference

Where: DoubleTree Hotel, 2050 Gateway Place, San Jose, CA

When: June 7-8, 2011

Packet-Optical Transport – Session 4 Tuesday, June 7 2:35 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

FPGAs: Addressing the Insatiable Bandwidth in Carrier/Optical Networking

Shreyas Shah will discuss the evolving optical-transport network (OTN) and how FPGAs have become an enabling technology. As the industry’s demand for higher bandwidth grows, equipment vendors are beginning to upgrade their switches and routers with new high bandwidth line cards. At the same time, the demand for reduction of CAPEX and OPEX is accelerating adoption of OTN equipment across various market segments. Shah will discuss how FPGAs are ideal in addressing high bandwidth interfaces and highly granular QoS technical challenges while enabling lowest total cost of ownership.

Exhibits Tuesday, June 7 4:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Xilinx To Demonstrate Optical Transport Network (OTN) Portfolio

Xilinx will demonstrate the Virtex-6 HXT FPGA OTN Targeted Design Platform for supporting faster market implementation of 100G line cards and demonstrating the key technologies enabling high bandwidth applications today with Virtex-6 HXT and Virtex-7 XT devices, paving the path to the development of future 400G line cards using Virtex-7 HT devices. The company will also demonstrate its 28 Gbps serial transceiver technology for next-generation 400G line card applications.
