Enea Announces Support for ARM Cortex A9 MPCore and the Xilinx Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 3, 2011 –  Enea® (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA) today announced it will offer comprehensive software support for the Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) from Xilinx, which combines an ARM® dual-core Cortex A9 MPCore processing system with a 28nm programmable logic architecture. Enea’s offering for the Xilinx Zynq EPP includes Enea OSE® Multicore Edition (www.enea.com/ose), its award-winning, hybrid kernel realtime operating system (RTOS) that supports both asymmetric and symmetric multi-processing and the Enea® Optima tools suite for developing, debugging and optimizing multicore systems.  Additionally, Enea can offer a full range of software including database management systems and communications protocols. The combination of Enea software and Zynq EPP provides a powerful and highly configurable development environment for a wide range of applications including video monitoring, automotive, industrial automation, among others.

“The increasing pressure to develop and deliver highly differentiated applications to market is a huge challenge for equipment manufacturers,” said Marcus Hjortsberg, vice president of marketing at Enea. “Enea’s OSE and Optima development tools provide a powerful and robust development environment for ARM Cortex A9 MPCore and the Zynq platform from Xilinx, delivering the foundation for innovation and flexibility device manufacturers need.”

“The Zynq-7000 family presents a tremendous amount of serial and parallel processing performance for high-end embedded systems. It offers much more flexibility than any other ARM based processing platform available today to offer significant benefit to all product innovators in terms of scalability and customization,” said Mark Jensen, Director, Processing Domain Marketing. “We look forward to working with Enea to empower customers with a flexible and integrated hardware and software development environment based on OSE Multicore Edition, Optima tools and our Zynq-7000 EPP”.

Enea OSE Multicore Edition is available now for ARM Cortex A9 MPCore and support for the Xilinx Zynq 7000 platform will be available in the third quarter of 2011.
