Xilinx’s Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform and World’s First 28nm FPGA for Embedded Systems on Show at ESC Silicon Valley 2011

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 2, 2011 – Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) is showcasing its Zynq™-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) and Kintex™-7 family, the world’s first 28nm Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), this week at Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley 2011. Through technical conference sessions, free workshops and booth demonstrations, conference attendees can learn how Xilinx can help embedded systems developers achieve the levels of performance and customization required to successfully deploy products across a wide range of end markets including: aerospace and defense, wired and wireless communications, automotive, audio/video broadcast, industrial control, test and measurement, and consumer.

What:    Xilinx at Embedded Systems Conference 2011

Where:   McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, CA, Booth #1332

When:    May 2 – 5, 2011

Exhibits:  May 3 – 5, 2011

Consisting of tools for software and hardware development, reference designs, IP including the MicroBlaze™ processor core, development kits, and other resources, Xilinx® Targeted Design Platforms for embedded systems provides design teams with high levels of productivity while minimizing development costs. The latest additions to Xilinx’s portfolio for embedded systems include the Zynq-7000 EPP, a new class of processing platform that combines an industry-standard ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processing system with Xilinx 28nm programmable logic architecture. Additionally Kintex-7 FPGAs, which deliver a 2x price-performance improvement while consuming 50 percent less power compared to previous generation FPGAs, offers high-density logic, high-performance serial connectivity, memory, DSP blocks and the new Agile Mixed Signal analog interface, all to enable higher system-level performance and new levels of integration. Xilinx activities at ESC Silicon Valley 2011 will focus on introducing attendees to the latest new product offerings and their capabilities.
