IAR Systems eases development of Fujitsu FM3 microcontroller designs

April 19, Uppsala – IAR Systems announced that IAR KickStart Kit for Fujitsu MB9BF506R is now available. The kit has been designed specifically for evaluating and prototyping using Fujitsu’s FM3 ARM Cortex-M3 based microcontroller family. The 32-bit MB9BF500 series, of which the MB9BF506R has the most on-chip flash and comprehensive peripheral support, are a range of high-integrated microcontrollers aimed at high performance cost sensitive applications.

The kit includes an MB9BF506R-SK evaluation board, USB host and device connectors and CAN interfaces, a 16 x 2 black and white LCD, audio and motor drive peripherals and an IAR J-Link on board debug probe providing SWD debugging together with software development tools.

Included in the kit is a code size limited version of IAR Embedded Workbench, a set of development tools for building and debugging embedded system applications using assembler, C and C++. It provides a completely integrated development environment that includes a project manager, editor, build tools and the C-SPY debugger. Also included is a 20-state evaluation copy of IAR visualSTATE.

By adding an optional IAR J-LINK Ultra probe, sold separately, it is possible to use the power debugging features provided by IAR Embedded Workbench.

IAR KickStart Kit for Fujitsu MB9BF506R is priced at € 270 / $ 349. It can be bought online at www.iar.com/eshop.
