10GbE MAC IP Core Accelerates Time to Deployment in SIGINT and Cyber-Security Applications

Camarillo, CA, USA, December 13th, 2010 – Nallatech, a leading supplier of high-performance COTS FPGA solutions, announces the release of a 10Gb Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) IP core for use with their PCIe-180 Network Accelerator Card. This comprehensive IP and hardware combination can significantly reduce time to deployment in signal intelligence, deep-packet inspection, and cyber-security applications.

This IEEE 802.3-2005 compliant MAC core supports the high-bandwidth demands of Internet protocol traffic on LAN, MAN and WAN networks. In addition to dramatically reducing the programming time needed for integration and debugging, an extremely flexible licensing agreement can be tailored to individual customer requirements to further reduce development costs.

The PCIe-180 is the only accelerator card of its class to comply with the “low profile” half height, half length PCI Express mechanical specification. It is no larger than a traditional network interface card. This enables compatibility with high density server and blade center platforms from leading OEMs including CRAY, DELL, HP, IBM, SGI, SUN and Supermicro.

“The 10GbE MAC core is delivered as a pre-synthesized netlist with fixed implementation constraints and ready-to-run example designs,” said Craig Petrie, Product Manager at Nallatech. “This allows customers to focus their efforts developing application-level code rather than integrating and debugging hardware and firmware from different COTS vendors.”

A MAC IP Core data sheet can be downloaded at: http://www.nallatech.com/images/stories/product/dime2/motherboards/pcie180/10gbemaccore.pdf

The IP core and associated reference designs can be purchased under a range of license agreements including a card-locked license from just $1,500. Deployment programs can take advantage of a project-license allowing the investment to be amortized across a number of accelerator cards.

Nallatech’s Design Services Team can assist with hardware, firmware and software design and implementation on a co-development or fully-turnkey basis.
