Titan IC Systems Announces PCIe Based Regex Offload Solutions for Security Appliances

LAS VEGAS, April 27 /PRNewswire/ — Titan IC Systems today announced its new Hyperion product family, offering high performance regular expression (regex) offload solutions for the network, cloud security and server markets.

The Hyperion 10G is a high performance PCIe accelerator card, targeted for offloading traditional software based regex content analysis tasks for a range of security applications requiring small form factor and low power consumption, without compromising performance.

The card is based on the high performance Titan IC 64-bit Regular Expression Processor (RXP), optimised for streamed IP packet and flow processing, offering true 10Gbit/s performance.

Titan IC Systems VP Engineering, Dwayne Burns emphasized that the simplification of integrating 10Gbit/s regex offload capability within existing applications has been a core objective and is one of Hyperion’s key differentiators. Hyperion development tools are optimised to provide customers with a simple upgrade and migration path for most software based legacy systems.

Commenting on the launch, Titan IC Systems CEO, Godfrey Gaston stated that, “there is a clear market opportunity for regular expression processing capability at true line rate and the launch of Hyperion 10G is an exciting and eagerly anticipated solution to this complex problem.”

The solution is based on the latest high performance FPGA technology and offers customers a scalable and customizable solution for the most demanding DPI applications including IDS/IPS, application identification, stateful packet/flow classification, URL/content filtering and other layer-7 content processing functions.

Titan IC Systems is exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2010, please visit us at booth 2730.

ADLINK Presents the Intel® Atom N450 Processor on an Extreme Rugged™ PC/104-Plus SBC

San Jose, Calif, April 27, 2010  ADLINK Technology Inc. announced the release of its newest small form factor (SFF) rugged single board computer (SBC), the Ampro by ADLINK™ CoreModule® 740. The CoreModule® 740 is a PC/104-Plus module that continues ADLINK’s commitment to the PC/104 standard. The CoreModule® 740 is the first Ampro by ADLINK™ SBC based on the Intel® Atom™ processor N450, running at 1.66GHz. The CoreModule® 740 takes advantage of the Atom’s two-chip solution architecture with integrated memory and graphics controllers, balancing excellent performance with very low power requirements, thus making conduction cooling easy to implement for small sealed enclosures.

Rugged by design, the CoreModule® 740 combines a wealth of legacy I/O interfaces including ISA, IDE, serial and parallel ports, with on-board video, 1GB of soldered RAM, USB 2.0 and PCI bus, all in a compact 90 x 96 mm footprint. The PC/104-Plus stackable form factor allows OEMs in military, avionics, transportation, data logging, portable computing and other rugged markets to add a state-of-the-art Intel® Architecture controller to their systems without the need for a custom carrier board. The CoreModule® 740 also provides an upgrade path for the broad base of existing PC/104 system designs.

“Our customers are looking to take advantage of the newest generation processors while preserving their investment in existing I/O technologies. The CoreModule® 740 addresses these needs by integrating the Intel® Atom™ CPU with legacy I/O and PCI bus. It delivers the advantage of Ampro by ADLINK™ Extreme Rugged™ design methodologies to zero-fail applications in the harshest environments and gives customers a drop-in form factor replacement with no new cabling requirements. ADLINK is sending a lifeline to EOL PC/104-Plus users with an Extreme Rugged™ legacy-friendly board with the latest Intel® Atom™ CPUs.” said Brian Healy, Product Management Manager of ADLINK.

About the CoreModule® 740

The CoreModule® 740 is a PC/104-Plus SBC developed with the Ampro by ADLINK™ Extreme Rugged™ design methodology which enables operation at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, vibration up to 11.95Grms, and shock up to 50Grms, satisfying military and aerospace requirements for missions in the most extreme environments. The CoreModule® 740 also features a full 16-bit ISA bus and PCI 32-bit bus. On-board I/O includes one IDE port, two RS-232 serial ports, four USB 2.0 ports, parallel port, and PS/2 keyboard/mouse. In addition, the CoreModule® 740 offers excellent graphics performance with a high-resolution panel interface and legacy CRT support, making it well suited for outdoor signage applications where graphics and extended temperature capabilities are required.

The CoreModule® 740 will soon be available in production quantities with QuickStart Kits which include board support packages (BSPs) for many popular operating systems including VxWorks®, Windows® CE, Windows XP Embedded, Linux® and QNX.
