LogMeIn Teams With Texas Instruments to Help Businesses Accelerate IoT Initiatives

LogMeIn, Inc. (NASDAQ:LOGM) today announced it is teaming with Texas Instruments (TI) to help businesses accelerate commercial Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives. As part of the collaboration, LogMeIn has joined TI’s new IoT cloud ecosystem, a group of preferred third-party cloud service providers selected to help manufacturers using TI products easily and rapidly develop new connected offerings. TI has also joined the LogMeIn Xively Partner Network, and the companies are actively integrating TI’s SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi solutions with LogMeIn’s Xively IoT platform.

As a result, manufacturers and enterprises can take advantage of the key integrated hardware, software and services needed to transform their businesses via the Internet of Things.

“The ultra-connected IoT paradigm is forcing businesses of all types and sizes to completely rethink how they engage with customers and manage their operations,” said Mario Finocchiarodirector of Xively business development at LogMeIn. “We believe the IoT’s real value lies in empowering businesses to leverage new-found, IoT-enabled insights about connected customers and processes, and reinvent how they develop products, and market, sell to and service customers. We’re delighted to join TI in providing end-to-end IoT solutions that help turn their customers’ IoT visions into reality.”

“TI is committed to making it as easy as possible for manufacturers to bring compelling connected products to market. The complexities inherent in building connected commercial products make IoT ecosystems critical to this effort,” said Noa Chorev, SimpleLink Wi-Fi product line manager, Wireless Connectivity Solutions, TI. “LogMeIn has been an early IoT innovator with its Xively cloud platform. By combining TI and LogMeIn ecosystems and expertise, we can help  manufacturers quickly connect TI-based products to the cloud and accelerate time-to-value.”

LogMeIn takes a business-first approach to the IoT, helping OEMs, enterprises and integrators define their business objectives, envision their connected product, and then design, pilot and build powerful connected commercial solutions using the Xively platform and their complementary ecosystem partners.

Built on LogMeIn’s proven, highly scalable Gravity cloud infrastructure — which supports millions of secure connections between people, devices and data across the globe —  Xively is a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) designed to help companies accelerate IoT initiatives. Featuring a highly-efficient data communications backbone, trust and permissioning engine, and data and directory service, all purpose-built for the IoT’s unique needs, the Xively platform can be rapidly integrated with hardware solutions, like TI’s SimpleLink Wi-Fi solutions, to empower connected devices. LogMeIn complements this technology platform with Xively Business Services, a team of IoT experts  that helps companies combine revolutionary cloud-connected devices, elegant mobile and web apps, and comprehensive CRM/ERP systems into fully-integrated IoT solutions.
