Newark element14 Salutes Engineers with Month-Long Celebration Honoring National Engineers Week

CHICAGO – Feb. 6, 2013 – Leading electronics distributor Newark element14 takes National Engineers Week to new lengths with a month-long celebration in February honoring aspiring and professional engineers of all ages and experience levels. The distributor is teaming up with industry-leading suppliers Agilent TechnologiesAnalog DevicesBud IndustriesEaton and Microchip  to kick off a series of events, activities and exclusive educational webinars aimed at educating young or aspiring engineers and supporting collaboration amongst tenured engineers.

  • “Why it’s Great to be an Engineer” Blogging Contest: Aspiring and professional engineers are invited to share their stories via a brief blog post explaining why it’s great to be, or become, an engineer for a chance to win a Raspberry Pi bundle and other technology products
  • The 29th Annual DuPage Engineers Week Expo: Newark element14 is hosting an “Aspiring Engineers” station at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Rice campus in Wheaton, Ill. on Feb. 23, challenging attendees to build a simple circuit. Raspberry Pi boards are up for grabs for winners of the challenge, as well as anyone who blogs about why they want to be an engineer. In addition, Newark element14 is donating Tenma soldering stations and DuraTool soldering wire for use in classrooms at IIT.
