This Ethernet cable costs $10,000

You probably didn’t know it, but you’ve been buying garbage Ethernet cables your entire life. Fortunately, there’s finally a better option and it only costs as much as a used car.

This 12-meter network cable costs a whopping £6899, which converts to about $10,000. On a good note, if you live outside the UK and decide to order one you’ll get the sales tax knocked off the price and that will save you a couple thousand dollars.

It’s offered by the folks at AudioQuest, and they’ve got plenty of reasons why their cable is worth every penny of that jaw-dropping price tag. They’re made with solid, 100% silver conductors which “prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion.” Those silver wires are wrapped in the finest high-density polyethylene insulation, ensuring  “critical signal-pair geometry while minimizing insulation-induced phase distortion.”
